Char Siu Pork

Serves 4

Ingredients

 

  • 350g pork loin

  • 4 Tbsp Lee Kum Kee Char Siu Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp Lee Kum Kee Premium Oyster Sauce

Method

 

  1. Marinate the pork loin in Oyster Sauce and 3 Tbsp of Char Siu Sauce for at least 30 minutes, ideally overnight.
     

  2. Preheat the oven to 190°C and roast the marinated meat for 20 minutes. Flip the meat to the other side and roast for another 20 minutes.
     

  3. Brush on the remaining 1 Tbsp of Char Siu sauce, turn off the heat and leave the char siu in the oven to rest for a couple of minutes before slicing.
     

  4. Place the sliced Char Siu Pork on top of noodle soup (with chicken stock), and sprinkle a bit of spring onion, to get the famous Char Siu Noodle Soup!

Tips

Preparing the marinade for this dish takes time, which is why many Chinese people used to head out to restaurants for Char Siu pork belly and duck. But today, there’s a handy shortcut . Families across China opt for pre-mixed Char Siu sauce to save time in the kitchen.
